A. Installation

1. System Requirements
mp3TrueEdit™ will currently run on Android 4.1 and above, Windows Vista/7/8 or Intel Apple OS X version 10.7 and above.  Windows XP is no longer supported from version 2.0 of mp3TrueEdit.  There are no specific memory or processor requirements but for editing very large audio files and projects then you may benefit from having more RAM and a faster CPU.  If you are unsure about the suitability of your hardware then please download and try out one of the demo or trial versions.
2. How To Install The Software
After downloading mp3TrueEdit™, on Windows you can install the software by double-clicking on the downloaded mp3TrueEdit.msi Windows Installer Package, and following the installation steps.
For Apple Mac OS X systems – click on the Mac OS X download link and when downloaded click on the mp3TrueEdit.pkg installer package and follow the installer instructions.
Our software can also be installed from the authorized third party stores shown in our Downloads page.
All our desktop software installations are digitally signed by “C2 Solutions Limited” so you can install with confidence.

B. License Key

Please note that a valid e-mail address is required to receive a purchased license key and an internet connection will be required when first activating mp3TrueEdit™ using that key and also for possible re-activation at a later date.
Once you have purchased a copy of mp3TrueEdit™, you will be directed to download mp3TrueEdit™ if you have not done so already.  You will also be issued with a license key to activate the full version of the software, removing any time limitations of a trial version. This license key is a unique reference allocated to you and can be used to install a copy of mp3TrueEdit™ on one machine only.
When running mp3TrueEdit for the first time or what a trial period has expired please follow the instructions on how to input your license key and activate the software.  Alternatively when running a trial version of mp3TrueEdit™ you can activate your license key at any time using the “Help | Activate License...” menu command any time you are connected to the internet.
If you have lost your license key, or have any other issues activating your copy of mp3TrueEdit™ then please email us by clicking here, letting us know when you purchased your copy of mp3TrueEdit™ together with the e-mail address that you provided when purchasing and the license key that was sent to you.

C. Software Upgrades

There is currently no fixed pricing structure for software upgrades as this will depend on the features and development effort needed to produce the next major version of our software. We do however offer preferential upgrade prices for all customers who are within their 18 months support period.  This is in addition to the free updates and additional features that will be provided on an ongoing basis to all licensed users of the current version of our software. D. Uninstalling The Software

To uninstall the software:
  • For Windows 8, 7 and Vista go to 'Control Panel | Programs' and 'Uninstall a program' and select mp3TrueEdit 1.1 and follow the instructions to uninstall the application.
  • For Windows XP go to 'Control Panel | Add / Remove Programs' select mp3TrueEdit 1.1 and follow the instructions to uninstall this application.
  • For Apple Mac OS X simply drag the mp3TrueEdit application off the 'Dock' if it is there and move the mp3TrueEdit.app application to the recycle bin.
  • For Android devices this can be done using the ‘Settings | Application manager’ facility.

E. Supported Audio Formats

1) mp3TrueEdit™ is specifically written to handle MP3 files which are the most popular and compatible audio format.  However, it does not currently support the ‘MP3 Pro’ or ‘MP3 free format’ versions of MP3 which are not widely used.
2) AAC files are now also supported and files with extensions .aac, .m4a, .m4b and .mp4 containing AAC audio can also be edited without quality loss in mp3TrueEdit.  Currently only unprotected AAC LC mono and stereo files are supported (the most popular AAC format) .

mp3TrueEdit 1.1.1 - released 21st May 2012

1) Fixed a bug that may have caused inaccurate displays of play position or selected span times for files longer than 1 hour.

mp3TrueEdit 1.1.0 - released on 7th April 2012

1) Added a map view showing the entire contents of the MP3 file. This also shows a window indicating the currently visible part of the file.
2) Added Trackpad scrolling and zoom support. Using the shift key will now also scroll and zoom vertically.

4) Improved MP3 recording with an input level slider and 24 bit recording if supported by the audio interface.
